Hypotheses Testing
The four null hypotheses formulated in this study were tested using t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical methods.
Hypothesis One
There is no significant difference in the determinants of drug use among females as perceived by male and females respondents.
The results of table 7 indicate that calculated t-value of 2.90 is greater than critical value of 1.96. Therefore hypothesis one which stated that, there is no significant difference in the factors responsible for females involvement in drug use as perceived by male and females’ respondent was rejected because a significant difference was found.
Hypothesis Two
There is no significant difference in the determinant of drug us among female as perceived by respondents on the basis of Age.
The result of table 8 indicates that the calculated t-value of 1.26 is less than critical t-value of 1.96. Therefore, hypothesis two which stated that, “there is no significant difference in the factors responsible for females involvement in drug use as perceived by respondents on the basis of age†was accepted because no significant difference was found.
