CHAPTER FOUR
RESULTS
Preamble
This chapter focuses on the analysis of the data collected for the study. It presents the results of the study under the sub-headings of demographic data of respondents, hypotheses testing and summary of findings. Percentage was used to presents the demographic information of respondents, the two major research questions raised were answered using mean and rank order, while the six research hypotheses formulated were tested with t-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistics at 0.05 level of significance.
Demographic Data of Respondents
The demographic characteristics of respondents are obtained using descriptive statistics of percentage. This is presented below:
Table 1 represents the demographic information of the respondents that participated in this study. The Table shows that 200 secondary school students in Ibarapa Local Government Area, Oyo State participated in the study, out of which, 122 (56.0%) were male, while 88 (44.0%) are female. The age of the participants varies as 71 (45.5%) were within the age bracket 11-14 years old, 116 (58.0%) fall within 15-18 years old, while 13 (6.5%) were of age 19-22 years old. On the basis of residential area however, majority, that is, 143 (71.5%) of the respondents were from urban center, while 57 (28.5%) were rural dwellers.
