DATA ANALYSIS AND RESULTS
Introduction
The data used for this analysis were obtained from a total number of two hundred (200) respondents on the consequences of child abuse on students’ academic performance in ten (10) selected secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis, through a structured questionnaire containing five (5) items on demographic data, and twenty (20) questions in section B on the consequences of child abuse on students’ academic performance.
The demographic data were analyzed with frequency counts and simple percentage, while the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypotheses.
Demographic Data
This section presents the results of data obtained from the study on frequency counts and percentages. The presentation on table one revealed information about respondents. The findings of this study are presented in the following tables.
The result in table 1 revealed that 52(26%) respondents are males while 148(74%) are female, this means that there are more female respondents than male respondents.
The result in table 2 revealed that 80(40%) of the respondents were Muslims while 112(56%) of the respondents were Christians and 8(4%) Practice African Traditional Religion. Thus most of the respondents were Christians.
