Summary of the Review of Related Literature
This chapter has attempted to examine and review some of the problems of delinquent behaviour that are prevalent among secondary school in Ilorin metropolis. The review is based on the submission of opinions of writers, scholars and researchers on delinquent behaviour of children with age of eighteen many contribute to students delinquent behaviours of which include:-
- Home Environment
- Influence of mass-media
- Inability of keep the children busy etc.
There are also types of delinquent behaviour such as:
- The psychopathic delinquent
- The neurotic delinquent
- The organic
- The psychotic
- The delinquent gang, this type is less common. This type of delinquent behaviour, that is common in secondary schools to mention but a few:
- Smoking
- Truancy
- Sexual promiscuity
- Examination malpractice
- Cultism
- Alcoholism etc.
The effects and management of delinquent behaviours were looked into
Finally, one can try as much as possible to be in control of him and not allowing these problems to control him. It is also advisable that teachers and parent should help these helpless adolescents in an attempt to deal with delinquent behaviour. They should make good use of the better society and peaceful environment.
