Test of Hypotheses
In this study four (4) hypotheses were tested and presented below:
Hypothesis 1: There is no significant difference in the perception of secondary school students on causes of delinquent behaviour on the basis of age.
Table 6 shows analysis of variance (ANOVA) on perception of secondary school students on causes of delinquent behaviour on the basis of age. The table shows that the calculate f-ratio of 7.316 is greater than the table value of 3.00 at 0.05 alpha level of significance. Since this is the case, the null hypothesis is rejected. This implies that there is significant difference in the perception of secondary school students on causes of delinquent behaviour on the basis of their age.
Note: Means with the different letter are significantly different. Age group 2 and 3 were not similar to each other. Thus the Duncan Grouping shows than with letter B. Age group 1 differs from them in having a different. Duncan Grouping Letter A. This differences showed in the fact that age group 1 had a mean of 45.2800 which were 46.4790 and 47.8750 respectively.
