Hypothesis Two
There is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic achievement as perceived by respondents on the basis of Age.
Table 4 shows that the calculated f-ratio of 1.52 is less than the critical f-ratio of 3.00 at 0.05 level of significance. Therefore, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic achievement as perceived by respondents on the basis of age is accepted. This shows that there is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic achievement as perceived by respondents on the basis of age.
Hypothesis Three
There is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic achievement as perceived by respondents on the basis of marital status.
Table 5 shows that the calculated t-value is 1.65, while critical t-value is 1.96. Since the calculated t-value is 1.96. Since the calculated t-value is less than the critical t-value, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic performance as perceived by respondents on the basis of marital status is accepted. This implies that there is no significant difference in the influence of birth order and gender on students’ academic achievement as perceived by respondents on the basis of marital status.
