    • This study investigates the impact of work ethics and discipline on organizational performance, focusing on a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria, with Amnesty International, Lagos as the case study. The background highlights that organizations are composed of individuals with distinct personalities, values, and attitudes, which may lead to conflicts affecting performance. The significance of ethical conduct and discipline in ensuring effective organizational operations is emphasized, linking these factors to employee satisfaction and productivity.

The problem identified in this study is the lack of adherence to work ethics and discipline among employees in NGOs, resulting in inefficiency, lateness, and reduced productivity. The study aims to assess the effects of these issues on organizational performance, examining employee perceptions and behaviors, and determining the effectiveness of disciplinary actions within the organization.

The objectives include evaluating how work ethics and discipline influence organizational outcomes, understanding employee attitudes toward workplace ethics, and exploring factors affecting organizational effectiveness. The research will be guided by questions and hypotheses centered on the relationship between ethics, discipline, and performance.

The significance of the study extends to offering insights for NGOs and policymakers on improving employee performance through enhanced ethical standards and disciplinary measures. The scope is confined to Amnesty International in Lagos, while limitations such as financial and time constraints are noted. The study is expected to contribute to the existing body of knowledge and provide valuable recommendations for improving organizational performance.
