      -    Islam attaches great  importance to acquisition of knowledge and regard learning as the bedrock of human civilization and development. A fact echoed by prophet Muhammad (SAW) when he declared that “Acquisition of knowledge is compulsory upon every Muslim, male and female.
      -    Education should be the weapon by the which man should be able to perceive and environment interpreted, criticized and finally transform it.
To inculcate the value of education upon the minds of Muslims again and again. The prophet stressed on this point in different words. Some of the following selected word of prophet should show how much he valued education (Manum 1954).
      1.    “Acquire knowledge. It enable the possessor to distinguish right from wrong; it lightens up the path to Heaven. It is our friend in the desert, our society in the solitude, our companion when friendliness. It guides to happiness, it sustain in diversity. It is ornament among friends, and an amour against enemies”.
      2.    “Whoever wishes to get benefit of this world let him acquire knowledge whosoever wishes to have the benefits of the next world let him acquired knowledge; whosoever wishes to have both together, let him acquire knowledge.”
      3.    “God has not created anything better than reason. The benefits that God’s displeasure is caused by it, and by it are reward and punishments”.
      4.    “The pursuit of knowledge is the best of worship”.
At this juncture, it is important to emphasize that the encouragement which Islam gives to the acquisition of knowledge is not limited to Islamic religious knowledge alone or Arabic studies.
Islam urges that research should be conducted in all branches of knowledge – Humanities, Social Science, Science and a Host of others.
