      RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter discussed the procedure that adopted in carrying out the study. This is itemised as follows:
      a)    Research Design
      b)    Population, Sample and Sampling Techniques
      c)    Instrumentation
      d)    Procedure for Data Collection
      e)    Data Analysis Techniques
      Research Design
The research design adopted for this study was the descriptive survey. Henry and Smith (2001) defined a descriptive study as a research procedure which aims at determining incidence, perception and attitude towards sociological and psychological variables. Similarly, survey research is one which enables the researcher to collect information from a representative sample of the population in order to describe the existing situations. Since this study sought the opinion of Islamic studies secondary school teachers in Ilorin West LGA using questionnaire, descriptive survey was therefore considered appropriate for use.
      Population, Sample and Sampling Techniques
The population for this study comprises all Islamic studies teachers in Ilorin West LGA.  The sample size used in this study was 120 Islamic education teachers in Ilorin West LGA. In selecting the sample for this study, convenient sampling technique was used to select the respondents from different public and private secondary schools in Ilorin West LGA. The respondents was classified based on gender, age and name of organisation. Stratification is a process in educational research whereby variables are classified into groups according to desired characteristics of the variables such as gender, location, school, religion, age group etc.
      Instrumentation
The main instrument that used for data collection was a questionnaire on “Roles of Muslim Organisations in the Development of Islamic Education” which contained two sections A and B. Section A of the questionnaire elicited the personal information of respondents. Sections B dealt with the Roles of Muslim Organisations in the Development of Islamic Education respectively. Sections B was patterned in line with four (4) point Likert-type rating scale format of: Strongly Agree; Agree; Disagree; and Strongly Disagree.
Section A of the questionnaire which dealt with the demographic data of the respondents was analysed using percentages. Section B on role of Muslim orgnisation on Islamic education development was patterned after a two 4 points Likert-Type, indicates that 4 is the highest score obtainable on an item and 1 point as the lowest. Therefore, in scoring Section B, to determine the roles of Muslim organization in the development of Islamic education, mean rating and rank order analysis of the items was conducted. Hence, a cut-off point of 2.50 was chosen and calculated thus 1+2+3+4= 10/4=2.50. Therefore, any item whose mean score falls between 2.5 and above was regarded as the major roles of the Muslim organization in the development of Islamic education, while score below 2.50 was less considered as the major roles of the Muslim organization in the development of Islamic education in Ifelodun LGA.
