This study was carried out to examine the Uses Of The Internet Facilities By Librarians. Specifically, the study aimed at find out the frequency of use of internet facilities for service delivery by librarians, find out the extent that librarians deliver services using the internet facilities, examine the challenges librarians face in using the internet to provide services and investigate the internet resources mostly used by the librarians in the university libraries. A total of 30 respondents were conveniently selected as sample size. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that the frequency of use of internet facilities for service delivery by librarians is high. The study also revealed the extent that librarians deliver services using the internet facilities is high.
The study further revealed the challenges librarians face in using the internet to provide services are communicating about changes in the Library, Keeping up with changing technical requirements, Staying current on policy changes and Keeping up with trends and changes. Lastly, the study revealed the internet resources mostly used by the librarians in the university libraries is books, periodicals, Full texts database and electronic journals. On the basis of these findings, it was therefore recommended that Libraries administrator should as a matter of urgency made internet facility available to other libraries such as school library, public library, special/ research library and national library. This is to enable them to carry out research and enhance effective and efficiency service delivery.
