    • The basic aim of this study is to examine the effect of twitter ban on electronic media using Arise and Channels television in Lagos State as case study.Survey research design was adopted for the study using convenience sampling method 45 participant was enrolled for the study. 

      A total of 39 responses were received and validated from the enrolled participants where all respondents were drawn from  staff of Arise Television and Channels Television of Lagos State. Hypothesis was tested using Chi-Square statistical tool (spss). Findings from the study reveals that the current twitter ban has significantly affected Citizens’ quick access to information on television/radio stations’ social media page. More so that the  ban have had a  significant impact on television channels and quick news reportage via social media platform on twitter.

      The study therefore recommends that The federal government of Nigeria should endeavour to go back to their drawing board and make necessary amendments to the ban on Twitter usage in Nigeria. Moreso While the twitter ban lingers, the public audience can do themselves good by engaging in other online news platforms such as Nairaland.org, Naijanews.com, print media online websites etc so at to keep in touch with the recent event within the society until the federal government rectify with twitter management.
