      2.0    LITERATURE REVIEW
In the past, windows were made by the use of wood as means of locking but it did not give a maximum security for life and properties and also it does not meet the wants of people.
As time want on, technology came and they took it into consideration and decided to find alternative way to gives birth to aluminum windows, metal window e.t.c.
These aluminum windows have been done in many ways with different designs irrespective to the wants of the prospective buyers.
      2.1    AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Some of the main aims of this project are listed below:
      i.    To practicalise the theoretical work done in lecture rooms.
ii.    To overcome the problem of short life span of the window
iii.    To change the local method of window designed to the modern method
iv.    To reduce the risk of danger to human life and properties caused by wooden windows
      v.    To produce decent and stronger type of windows
vi.    To make me to be more exposed to the use of some complex machine in the workshop e.g drilling metal saw e.t.c.
vii.    To let student realize that they can bring anew idea to engineering construction
      2.2    TYPES OF MANUFACTURES WINDOWS
Windows open and close differently, depending on the operating type following is a list of common types of windows.
      2.2.1    SINGLE HUNG/DOUBLE HUNG WINDOW
      •    Classic in appearance
      •    Offers excellent control of ventilation
      •    Sashes slide vertically
      •    In-single-hung units, the bottom sash is the only sash that moves
      •    Ventilation regulated by widening vertical crack with bottom sash
      •    Screens possible on exterior/interior
      2.2.2     CASEMENT WINDOW
      •    Hinges are located on one side
      •    Low our leakage rates (lighter seal than sliding window) a crank (some out inward- swinging)
      •       Better ventilation changer area open to outside
      •       Can catch passing breezes (window protrudes outside into wind)
      •       Screens installed on interior
      2.2.3     BOW WINDOW
      •    Similar to bay window, more actual windows
      •    Radiate out to form semi-circle
      •    Made from several windows positioned side by side to create an arcing form
      •    It provides drama in a room

    • ABSRACT - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]ABSTRACT   Privacy and security are major essential human needs in various homes, offices e.t.c. Accessibility to adequate, durable, fashionable and affordable windows in our different buildings has been a problem to the society. Ability to have access to window of good quality and high durability of a price affordable to an average  Nigerian has been a problem. This project here aims at production of a durable aluminium window. The aluminium window was subjected to different test, it was found ... Continue reading---

CHAPTER ONE - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]CHAPTER ONE1.0    INTRODUCTION OF ALUMINIUM WINDOWWindows are possibly most complex and interesting element in residential design. Today’s energy efficient window can dramatically decrease the heating and cooling costs while increasing the occupant comfort and minimizing window surface condensation problem. In recent years there have been the advances in windows of both new construction and retrofits. High performance windows system may be considered as one of the key factors for reach ... An Engineer is always limited to the material at its vicinity particularly in Nigeria there is the need for them to improvise with the little materials. There are some parameters that an engineer must consider before choosing certain materials, some of which are listed below:1. Physical properties2. Strength 3. Fabricability4. Economic cost5. Chemical comp ... Continue reading---
