    • 3.3.2 TILE CONDENSE
In system involving heat transfer, a condenser is a device or unit to condense a substance from its gaseous to its liquid state, by cooling it in so doing the latent heat is given up by the substance, and will transfer to the condenser coolant.
Condensers are typically heat exchanges refrigerator uses a condenser are to get rid of heat extracted from the interior of the unit to the outside air. Condensers can be used as various system such as:
      i.     Air conditioning system
ii.     Industrial chemical: chemical process such as distillation, steam power plants and other heat exchange systems.
The condenser rejects heat from the refrigeration system that the evaporator absorbed and compressor pumped the condenser summarily de-supper heats condenses and sub-cool the refrigerant (Pamker Mike, (1999) The gas entering the condenser is very hot compared to the surrounding air that a heat exchange begins to occur immediately in the air with about 90% of the refrigerant condensed, the refrigerant in the pipe is almost pure liquid the liquid can still give of at 125°f, the liquid is said to be sub cool to the condenser and perform three important things which are:
      •    The hoot gas from the compressor is de-super heated
      •    The refrigerant is condensed from vapor to liquid
      •    The liquid refrigerant temperature may them be lowered below the condensing temperature, or sub cooled to between 10°f and 20°f below the condensing temperature

      3.3.3 THE EVAPORATOR
This is a device that uses the evaporator to cool a space that can be used to store that can be used to store that can be used to store food or water. (i.e cooling occurs during this stage). Because its functions is to absorb heat into the area to be cooled the refrigerant is let into and measured by a flow control device, and which absorbs heat from the air blown through a coil by fans. Fus and tube are made of metal with high thermal conductivity to maximize heat transfer the refrigerant vaporizes from the heat it absorbs into the evaporator. Also evaporators are of different sizes depending on the required condition of the temperature in the system. The size used for this project is 5710 0.D x 50 because it is the most suitable for a much lower temperature.

    • ABSRACT - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]ABSTRACTThis project is on the design and fabrication of deep freezer for the preservation of items/products and making the items to cool. The project is able to develop a simple efficient economical and environmental friendly refrigeration system (A freezer) towards better technological advancement in Nigeria. This project modifies the existing refrigeration system with the use of R-600a which is ozone friendly, and non-contaminant like previous refrigerant of the hydrofluoric-carbon, HFC and C ... CHAPTER TWO - [ Total Page(s): 1 ]CHAPTER TWO2.0    LITERATURE REVIEWRefrigeration is branch of engineering that is concerned with the science of producing and maintaining temperature below that of the surrounding atmosphere [Raymond, C.G. (1973)]. It also the process of removing heat from the substance. Before the advent of mechanical refrigeration, water was kept cool by storing in semi-porous pots, so that the water could seep through and evaporate. The evaporation carried away heat and cooled the water [Raymond, C.G. (1 97 ... Continue reading---

The flooded type.I.     THE DRY OR DIRECT EXPANSION TYPEA part of the heat transfer surface is used for superheating the vapor. Therefore refrigerant leaves the coil in a dry state that is as a dry vapor. [Althouse, A. D(1968)].II.     THE FLOODED TYPEIf flooded evaporators, the liquid refrigerant covers the entire heat- surface. As the liquid refrigerant leaves the evaporator, any l ...
