5.0 FABRICATION DETAILS
5.1 THE EXTERNAL CABINET AND MATERIAL SELECT
As a result of reducing the cost of the project, an existing cabinet was purchased.
The dimension of the cabinet is 124500m x 9150mm. The aim is to achieve a minimum cost of the project.
5.2 INSULATION
Insulation is very important and required to prevent heat leakage in the cabinet from the warm surrounding. Since heat flow from region of high temperature to that of low temperature, the heat gain will lead to a loss in the system capacity.
Heat can leak into the cabinet by radiation, convection and conduction. To reduce the radiation of heat transfer, the outer mild steel is followed by; layer of fiber glass used. The fiber glass has a low thermal conductivity (k) value for 0.043w/k and it is a good thermal insulator.
2.1 Evaporator
Evaporator consists of a copper and aluminum sheets. The cooling fect is transferred from the copper pipe to the aluminum (which is a good )flductor of heat) and finally to the material in the freezer.
