5.3 COMPRESSOR BASE
The compressor used is a four-legged type. Therefore a hole has to be drilled on the compressor base. On the compressor base drill 5mm diameter holes in four places of the compressor to be bolted down,

5.4 CONDENSER
The condenser was coiled round the fin rods. The fins were constructed with round rods. A bare tube condenser is selected for use, and the cooling medium is air i.e. by natural convention.
5.5 ASSEMBLY OF PART
i. COMPRESSER
The compressor mounting plate would check for alignment with a spirit level. The compressor was placed on it mountain pads, bolts and nut were used to hold it firmly against the base. Also rubber brushing is used for the mounting to dump any forms of vibration during operation.
ii. CONDENSER
After fixing a compressor, the condenser was bolted to he back of the cabinet using a screen bolt. The discharge hose of the compressor was then joined to the inlet hose of the condenser.
iii. EXPANSION VALVE
The outlet of the condenser was joined to the inlet of the expansion valve by oxy-acetylene gas welded machine.
iv. CAPILLARY TUBE
One of the capillary tunes was welded by oxy-acetylene gas welding to the expansion valve while the other end was welded.
5.6 LUBRICANTS IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
In refrigeration system, oil must perform certain function other than minimizing friction, such as seating the gas between suction and discharge ports, action as a coolant to transfer heat from the crank case to the noise generating by the moving part.
It should not contain any suspended matter, wax or moisture which might chock the expansion device, therefore, oil with lowest viscosity which the refrigerant must be used.
The prescribed oil for reciprocating compressor used with R-12 are
280-300 S S U.
5.7 TROUBLE SHOOTING IN DOMESTIC REFRIGERATOR
The following are common complaints associated with domestic refrigerator.
