         SELECTION OF MATERIALS
      In the engineering sphere, to achieve the desire standard, strong valuable and very attractive high quality product. The selection of material for any fabrication work must be one as its best. The selection of material is therefore should be based on the properties of that material is to be used in relation to the purpose for which the project is giving to serve.
      Similarity the withstand certain amount of wad and the durability of such material should be selected. The main properties to be consider in choice of material include the following.
      i.    Cost of material: Any material to be chosen, there must be consideration in the cost so that the overall price of the machines will be bearable for peasant farmers
      ii.    Strength of the material: Strength of materials entails toughness, hardness, and ductility properties of material. It is important to consider strength of the material for any fabrication or construction; this will help the project to withstand any applied force.
      iii.    Availability of material: The material used must be easily and readily obtained in the locality at a bearable cost.
      iv.    Durability: The materials chosen for this product has the ability to last for a longer time before warn out
      v.    Chemical properties: The chemical properties must be consider for the fabrication on any project, this refers to respond of the project material to resistance, corrosion.
      vi.    Size: The size of the machine in relation to the quality of groundnut pods to the shelling at a time need to be taken into consideration

      Marking out of different parts
      The tools used for this operation are scribblers, steel rule, iron square,
      Cutting process
      The tools used during this process are hacksaw, chisel and manually operated guillotine machine, hacksaw are used in cutting off the flat bar, metal steel, the flat bar is held in between the teeth of the vice bench the manually operated givellotine machine was used in cutting flat sheet for the construction of the main body because of its lightness and smoothness desire for the edges
      Bending operation
      The equipment used are manual bending machine like wise tool such as hammer was used in bending of the flat bars to form the beater bar and manual sheet metal bending machine is used in bending some parts of the body to form at angle 45 at the front and back of the main body of this machine.
      Drilling operation
      The drilling operation was carried out on the frame to hold the bearing housing, electric motor frame all these are make like wise the position for the bolt and nut in couple the components. The tools used is centre punch and hammer to punch the marked point on the frame, then drilling machine was used to make hole on the frame.
      Painting operation
      This operation was carried out after the component parts of the machine as been coupled together. Before the painting of various component parts of the machine have fabricated, the component parts were cleared with wire brush and sand paper in order to remove blown and also to allow the paint to a there very well to the machine.
      5.    2.5    Maintenance Operation
      Maintenance service is given to the machine is very important in order to use the machine to the maximum and to maintain a long time life span, consequent upon this, the following parts are recommended for the maintenance of the groundnut decorating machine.
      1.    Adequate lubrication of the shaft and housing together with all moving parts in necessary.
      2.    Remove and reliance the warn out parts in time to prevent accident.
      3.    Repaint the corroded parts and store in a cool dry place.
      4.    Do not use low voltage for the machine to avoid coil weakening.
      5.    Do not over load / over face the machine beyond it’s capacity
      6.    Allow a machine to rest when it’s work for at least 17hours to prevent heating of the electric motor
