    • The sample size is 60, and the researcher use 60 questionnaire.
      3.6 INSTRUMENTS FOR DATA COLLECTION
      The instruments used for data collection was a 25-items self administered questionnaire consist of both open and closed ended questions. The open ended part comprises of socio-demographic section, and items measuring  the knowledge, perception of nursing as career choice while the open ended questions were aimed at making some clarifications and explanations on issues bordering on career choice.
      3.7 VALIDITY OF INSTRUMENT
      Validity of the instrument was established by constructing the questions based on the objective of the study and some copies of the questionnaire were given to the supervisor for  assessment, correction and modification to ensure that the content correspond with the objectives of the study before administering to the respondent. The questionnaire was found to be valid as it measures the issues it intend to address.
       3.8 RELIABILITY OF INSTRUMENT
      The reliability of the instrument was ensured by pretesting the questionnaire using 10 secondary school students of S.S.S 3 from Queen Elizabeth secondary school Ilorin who were similar in characteristics as the intended study participants.
      3.9 METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION
      The participants consent was obtained, after the permission to carry out the study had been sought from the school’s principals by presenting a letter of introduction to the principals. The students were seated in a convenient class room with some appreciable distance  among them  to avoid undue influences and were encouraged to respond to those issues indicated there in honestly. 60 structured questionnaire 20  in each school were distributed. Questionnaire copies were  retrieved after completion. The respondent  rate was 100% .
      3.10 METHOD OF DATA ANALYSIS
      Data collected were summarized and analyzed with the use of descriptive statistics such as percentage and frequency table, while the data was presented using tables, while the data was presented using  table, while the data was presented using tables, bar chat and  chi- square.
      3.11 ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
               A letter of introduction was obtained by the researcher from the authority of the Kwara State College of nursing and midwifery Ilorin, to various selected research centre.
          The letter of introduction was given to the school principals, permission to carry out the study was given by the school principals and the student’s informed constant was obtained by the researcher, individuals who express their willingness to participate in the study were provided with full explanation of what the study entailed. Participants were given the opportunity to seek clarification and ask questions, and that they could at any point withdraw if they so desired without any threat of victimization or harassment. They were assured of their anonymity, and confidentiality of the information volunteered.
