    • This study explores the knowledge and attitude of nursing mothers towards infant healthcare in rural communities. It specifically investigates nursing mothers’ understanding of infant healthcare, assesses their attitudes towards infant healthcare, and identifies the factors influencing both their knowledge and attitudes. A total of 260 survey responses were validated.

The research utilizes the Interactive Theory of Breastfeeding as its framework. Based on the analyzed data, the findings indicate that nursing mothers in rural communities have a high level of knowledge about infant healthcare. Additionally, their attitudes towards infant healthcare are positive. The study suggests that fathers and other family members (such as mothers and mothers-in-law) should provide crucial social support to nursing mothers and should be educated on essential childcare practices. This support can help reduce the stress experienced by nursing mothers and improve infant well-being. Furthermore, the study recommends that healthcare professionals assess the sleep quality of mothers of preterm infants after hospital discharge, as adequate sleep can enhance the support system and improve the overall quality of life for these families.
