    • This research is therefore an attempt to unveil the effect of leadership style of managers on the secretary’s productivity in ANAMMCO. However, the relationship between the secretary and the manager is such that the secretary serves as his representative, a partner, memory and is a link between the manager and public. She aids in fulfilling the part of the plans allocated to her or him and expected to willing cooperate in any way which will promote the success of the organization.
      1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
      The leadership style adopted by the manager of ANAMMCO affects the productivity of his secretaries either negative or positively. A secretary can be frustrated, de-motivated, or otherwise by her/his manager’s leadership style.
      Some managers leadership style tends to reduce the status of the secretary to a mere sedentary typist who carries out instructions without at least giving the opportunity to think her views as regards matters that direct affected her as a worker. The problems in this research work is to find out the effects of the manager’s leadership style on the secretaries productivity.
      1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
      The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the manager’s leadership style on the productivity of the secretaries in ANAMMCO which among other things include
      i. To identify the leadership style adopted by the managers
      ii. To find out the factors responsible for the type of leadership style adopted by managers.
      iii. To determine whether organization influences managers leadership style
      iv. To proffer suggestions on the findings of the study.
      1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
      This research study would highlight the various leadership styles of managers and its effects on the secretaries productivity and the responses of such attitude by secretaries. It is also hoped that this project will reveal the best leadership style to be adopted by the managers of ANAMMCO to enhance efficient and effective productivity of the secretaries.
      The school (Institute of Management and Technology Enugu) will equally benefits from this work because it will give it an idea of the best leadership style to be adopted and also serve as a reference materials in the school library.
