4.3 Malaria infection among students in relation to age
Table 1 shows the numbers of samples examined among different age groups and gender, the age groups examined are 16-25, 26-34 and 36-45. For the 16-25 age group 1.17 mean parasitaemia were positive to the serology test while 17.72 were positive to malaria using microscopy test. In the 26-34 age group 0.84 mean parasitaemia were positive to the serology test , 12.11 mean parasitaemia were positive to malaria using microscopy test. For the 36-45 age group 0.62 mean parasitaemia were positive to the serology test, 10.13 mean parasitaemia were positive to malaria using microscopy test. In the 46-55 age group 0.63 mean parasitaemia were positive to the serology test, 14.24 were positive to malaria using microscopy test.
