      SUMMARY, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
          This chapter presents summary and conclusion drawn from the research carried out on the factors affecting the teaching and learning of English is Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. Recommendations were also made on the findings of the study
      Summary
      This study was carried out to investigate the factors affecting the teaching and learning of English is Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. The variables of the study were teachers’ attitude towards   teaching, government attitude, and availability of instructional materials and methodology of teaching. Questionnaire on the factors affecting the teaching and learning of English Language in Primary Schools was used to gather information for the study from the respondents. The variables of the study were reviewed. Ten primary schools were sampled for the study. One hundred respondents were used for the study.  Four research questions were raised for the study and answered with descriptive statistics of mean scores and standard deviation. Four research hypotheses were formulated and statistically tested using inferential statistics of Pearson product moment correlation statistic at 0.05 level of significance. The summary of the findings are as follows
      1.    There was significant relationship between teachers’ attitude towards   teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area Kwara State.
      2.    There was significant relationship between government attitude towards   teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area Kwara State.
      3.    There was significant relationship between availability of instructional materials towards   teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area Kwara State.
      4.    There was significant relationship between methodology of teaching towards   teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School in Ilorin West Local Government Area Kwara State.
      Conclusion
      This study has shown that teachers’ attitude, government attitude, availability of instructional materials and methodology of teaching will go in a long way improving teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School. In addition to that, it is agreeable that pupils’ discipline is critical factor in determining the quality of output from classrooms. The potential effectiveness of discipline is on the responsiveness and quality of school heads.
      Recommendations
      The following recommendations were made to enhance and improve teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School
      1.    Teachers should improve their attitude towards teaching English Language so that pupils’ participation is improved.
      2.    Government should endeavour to provide necessary needs for teachers as well as pupils in order to improve the teaching and learning of English Language in Primary School
      3.    Instructional materials for teaching and learning of English language should be provided adequately by the school management in order to improve pupils’ performance in English.
      4.    Teachers particularly English teacher should endeavour to adopt good methodology of teaching while teaching the subject.
      5.    Government should build more classrooms to accommodate students according to the recommended population of 40 students per class in order to reduce overpopulation and prevent indiscipline among students.
      6.    There should be adequate provision for infrastructural facilities such as classrooms, toilet, play ground etc so that students’ discipline can be managed and improved by the school authority.
