Table 4 above shows the causes of indiscipline in post primary schools when the items are taken individually. Poor child upbringing takes the lead as the most critical factor that causes post primary schools indiscipline as perceived by teachers. This factor is under the home factors. The second factor is imitation of immoral behaviour of the peers and the third is the initiation into cult. These second and third are under the peer group factor. Under the grouping, it is not therefore surprising that the peer group comes first followed by the home factor, then the school factor and the societal factor comes last.
Research Question 2: What are the consequences of indiscipline in post primary schools as expressed by teachers?
Table 5 above shows the consequences of post primary school as perceived by teachers. The first most important consequence of student indiscipline is participation in communal violence. This followed by involvement in human trafficking, and the third is involvement in examination malpractice. Other important consequence of student indiscipline is participation in communal violence. This followed by involvement in human trafficking, and that third is involvement in examination Malpractice. Other important consequences, according to the teachers are involvement in substance use, involvement in political violence, teenage parenting and so on in that order.
