      3.0 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Methodology is very vital aspect in research study. The data collected through the research instrument.
This will then yield result concerning the phenomenon (the variables) being studies, it is therefore the responsibility of the researcher to choose the appropriate statistical method of data analysis to use for the study. The method of analysis available are many depending in the type of information sought which ranges from Simple to higher and more couples data analysis
The letter way call from more advanced, more complex statistical method to be employed by the researcher.
The choice of an appropriate statistical method of as the sample and population being investigated.
This is dependable to a research problem through a planned and systematic method of collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.
Research aim at discovering the relationship that exist between or aiming variables.
Descriptive approach and survey was adopted for this study.
This is because it is believed that descriptive and survey method enables the researcher to option of the target population in order to find the perception of the entire population. This concerned with method and procedure used for data collection.
This chapter consist of sample with size and sample procedure as analyzed by the research .it also include the sources of data collection method, types and techniques the sources of data collection, method types and technique used in conducted this research.
3.1    SAMPLE AND POPULATION OF THE STUDY
The sample and population section if this study involve searching a variety of sources in order to identify the bureaucracy as tool for affective performance in Kwara state polytechnic, Ilorin. In conducted research like this, it is hardly possible to include all members of staff of this given population in this investigation.
This is because the population member may be too larger to be reached at a particular point in time due to department and sectional coverage. If the research work attempt to cover all the population needed in this investigation a lot and more time, money or effort will be spent. Therefore it try to select a researchable sample of the population for its investigation which makes it appears that the more the representation of the sample of the more the result from it.
It can be generalized to other member of population and it will be free from bases.
This research however has a well defined population so as to avoid inclusion of irrelevances such as element or subject that do not actually, belong to the population of interest when conducting this study. In this research study, senior officers and directors of Kwara state polytechnic where considered as the population of the study as they are the most appropriate of the unit.
From total population a sample size of six (6) executive directors and twenty-four (24) senior officers were randomly selected.
Data as primarily sourced through mailed questionnaire. a well structured questionnaire with response rated on seven (7) point likert scale were sent to selected senior officers and directors.
      3.2    SOURCES OF DATA
In the course of carrying out this research work these are two types of data collection that were employed.
This study employed both primary and secondary source of the data which are the instrument used by this study to get its data in an effort to accurate and to make for its finding are reliable.
These include: (a) primary sources of data and (b) secondary source of data.
By (a) primary sources of data: refers to personnel that this research made by using interview, questionnaire and observation which centered on the area of interest and importance or relevance of this study, whereby senior officer of the Kwara state polytechnic are investigated.
By [b] secondary sources of data as a matter of fact and acceptability, some relevance and fact are generated and used.
These are sourced from different concluded and reliable past done work in which this research work made personal investigation by using and consulting some books, journals, magazines and as well as newspaper of relevant information and connections to the coils and approved topic of this very research work.
