1.3 Objectives Of The Study
The overall aim of this study is to critically examine the causes and effect of abortion among women of reproductive age. Hence, the study will be channeled to the following specific objectives;
1. Identify the factors which causes and contribute to women engagement in abortion.
2. Ascertain whether abortion causes reproductive health complication.
3. Determine possible effects of abortion among women.
1.4 Research Question
The study will be guided by the following questions;
1) What are the factors which causes and contribute to women engagement in abortion?
2) Does abortion causes reproductive health complication?
3) What are possible effects of abortion among women?
1.5 Significance Of The Study
This study will also be beneficial to the society as the results of this study will reveal the dangers of abortion, and the effect of abortion on the sexual practices among reproductive aged women(15-49) thereby encouraging parents and guardians to take actions and decisions that will better educate their youths on abortion and its accompanying dangers.
Additionally, subsequent researchers will use it as literature review. This means that, other students who may decide to conduct studies in this area will have the opportunity to use this study as available literature that can be subjected to critical review. Invariably, the result of the study contributes immensely to the body of academic knowledge with regards to the causes and effect of abortion among women of reproductive age.
1.6 Scope Of The Study
This study is structured to generally examine the causes and effect of abortion among women of reproductive age. However, the study will further identify the factors which causes and contribute to women engagement in abortion, ascertain whether abortion causes reproductive health complication, and determine possible effects of abortion among women.
The respondents for this study will be obtained from female undergraduate in University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
1.7 Limitation Of The Study
Like in every human endeavour, the researcher encountered slight constraints while carrying out the study. Insufficient funds tend to impede the efficiency of the researcher in sourcing for the relevant materials, literature, or information and in the process of data collection, which is why the researcher resorted to a limited choice of sample size. More so, the researcher simultaneously engaged in this study with other academic work. As a result, the amount of time spent on research will be reduced.

1.8 Definition of Terms
Mortality: Loss of life on a large scale.
Abortion: Termination of the pregnancy of a woman before it reaches full term.
Sexual activities: Human sexual activity, human sexual practice or human sexual behaviour is the manner in which humans experience and express their sexuality. People engage in a variety of sexual acts, ranging from activities done alone to acts with another person in varying patterns of frequency, for a wide variety of reasons.
