A Study On The Causes, Effects, Prevention And Control Of Threatened Abortion Among Childbearing Mothers Ages (18-45) Years In Gilead Children Hospital Abagana, In Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra

This research work was carried out on the causes, effects, prevention and control of threatened abortion among childbearing mother’s ages 18-45 years. Carried out in Gilead children hospital Abagana, Anambra state. It was also designed to identify the major causes, effects, prevention and control of threatened abortion among childbearing mothers. The research design used is survey design and the sample and sampling techniques used is purposive sampling techniques for this work. The total population size is one hundred and ten (110). The instrument for data collection was questionnaire. Data collected was analyzed using frequency distribution table, percentage and mean deviation.

The data gathered shows that among childbearing mothers in Gilead children hospital, that causes of threatened abortion includes Emotional or psychological stress, traumatic life events, history of mental health disorder (depression, anxiety), infections and the effects of threatened abortion includes physical complication such as bleeding and infection, impact on overall wellbeing and quality life of the mothers, strain relationships with partners or family members. The prevention and control of threatened abortion such as Adequate parental care and regular check-ups are important in preventing, Education and awareness programs about threatened abortion should be conducted to empower women with the knowledge, Access to contraception and family planning services can help reduce the risk of threatened abortion.
