This study was carried out to examine the impact of nutrition and adequate rest on cognitive behavior among primary school pupils. To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tables to analyze research questions and Chi-square statistical tool was used for testing of research hypotheses.
A structured questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection from the selected primary school pupils in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State. After the careful analysis of the data, the following findings were revealed that; there is relationship between nutrition and cognitive behavior among primary school pupils and nutrition can affect primary school pupil academic performance. The researcher therefore recommends that nutrition be taught in schools from nursery through tertiary institutions, that seminars be organized by tertiary institutions on the importance of good nutrition and parents and guardians should work hard to provide sufficient funds for their children and wards to feed adequately.
