    • This study examined the effect of street hawking among teenage girls using residence of Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State as case study. To achieve this 2 research hypothesis were formulated.  The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprise of the entire 200 hundred residence of Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. In determining the sample size, the researcher adopted the Taro Yamani formula which then used to selected 133 respondents.

       A total of 133 questionnaires were distributed and all were received and validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables and percentage. The result of the findings reveals that; there is an origin and development of street hawking in Nigeria and street hawking in Nigeria has social, political and economical effects in the nation. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended that; parents should be made to be aware of the effects of street hawking on children especially teenage girls through public enlightenment, radio gingles, television drama and billboard display so as to discourage them in doing so to their children. Also, parents economic status should be made known to them and the risk of producing children they cannot care for thereby using the elder ones to source for money for the up keep of the whole family. Furthermore, federal government should introduce free education at primary and secondary levels so as to help alleviate the sufferings parents encounter in order to pay their children's school fees. Lastly,moral instruction should be inculcated on every child by her parents at homes and religious leaders in the churches and guidance and counselors in the schools so as to discourage them from pre-marital sex.
