    • For this study content validity was adopted as stated by Fox (1999) that for any data gathering procedure like questionnaire, content validity is the strongest technique available to researcher, it is the extent to which a test measures a representative sample of the subject matter,  content and behavioral consideration (Fox, 1999). Reliability is the consistency, accuracy and stability of a measuring instrument. In other words, it refers to the degree to which the same test yield or would give the same result if it is done again by the same people on different  occasion or with different sets of equivalent items under the same condition (Oladele, 1997).
Both validity and reliability were obtained for the instrument of this study. The content validity was ensured by giving the questionnaire to the project supervisor and some other lecturers in the department. They were requested to ascertain whether or not all thevariable identified in the study were adequately catered for by the items on the questionnaire. Objections were also raised against the inclusion of some items as well as the omission of some others. All these regularized the final form of the questionnaire.
      3.3.6.    Method of Data Analysis
Methodology is a vital process of carrying out an empirical study. It forms the background in which the procedure and method employed in carrying out a research are described (Nnamdi, 2004). In this research work, after the knowledge and behavior of respondents had been quantified using appropriate statistical tools, responses given will then be scored, coded and grouped on the basis of the responses given. Frequency and simple percentage method was used for descriptive analysis in the study and inferential statistics.was used to achieve the major objective of the study. In other words, the hypotheses for the s were tested with the use of chi-square and correlation co-efficient. The Chi-square is used to ascertain if there is significant relationship between the independent and dependent variables and the correlation co-efficient is used to test for significant effect of the independent variables on the dependent variables at 0.5 level of confidence.
      3.3.7     Research Hypothesis
The following hypothesis were formulated to guide the study
H1:     There is no significant relationship between family disintegration and     drug abuse.
H2:     There is no significant relationship between family disintegration and     alcoholism
H3:    There is no significant relationship between family disintegration and truancy.

CHAPTER TWO - [ Total Page(s): 9 ]Socioeconomic StatusLow socioeconomic status puts divorced families at increased risk of engaging in risk takingbehaviours (Harris, 2009). In fact, results from a study involving young couples showed that lower income families are more likely to engage in risky behaviours (Taylor, 2010) Adults from low-income families experience higher rates of poor physical and mental health, are likely to engage in deviant acts, have early and unprotected sexual intercourse, and are more likely to experience e ... Thus majority of the respondents absents from school. From the above table, 69.9% of the total respondents are disobedient to elders, 24.8% (28) are not disobedient to elders, and 4.4% (5) has no idea, while 0.9% (1) didn’t give any response. CHAPTER FIVE - [ Total Page(s): 2 ]RecommendationsBased on the findings, the recommendations given by the researcher are the following;Firstly, the influence of the family on a child cannot be quantified or over-emphasized.
