(3) CYCLICAL VARIATION: Cyclical variation is a long time oscillation about the trend line. These cycles may or may not be periodic. An example of cyclical variation is also called economic circle which represent period of prosperity followed by recession, depression and finally recorded.
They are medium term changes in result caused by factors or circumstances which prevail for a while go, then come back again in respective cycle.
(4) IRREGULAR VARIATION: These are sporadic movement which are due to some random events such as flood, strikes, war, etc.
They are unpredicted change that occurs in a random manner, in many situation, value of a variable may be difficult to predict or changing in a random manner.
